Module 10: Assessments

This module discusses the goals of formative and summative assessment and the ways in which it benefits the child and the teacher. It helps monitor the child’s learning and identify his strengths and weaknesses. The teacher gets feedback which can be used to modify her strategy and the content taught. It helps the child assess himself and become aware of what he can do well and what he struggles with. Peer assessment allows the students to use one another as learning resources. Assessment helps students and parents calibrate the learning expectations and helps parents to be more effective in the support of their children.
